Brown Eyed Girls JeA is back
with a long awaited solo comeback and the girl is simply scorching the music
floor on fire…
Her comeback
album is titled “Bad Girl” and has two of the most complex song I have never
listened to- “Bad Girl” and “Island of tears”.
“Bad Girl” is a song about a girl who is in a
relationship but is seeing someone else. Caught between the two she feels it is
beat to break up with the man although she still loves him dearly. The song
asks the man to not go easy on JeA, asking him to not forget nor forgive her
for her actions. This song features Brown Eyed Souls’ Jong Yup who sings the
man’s perspective in this song and gives his two cents about the relationship.
The song is
heavy with the story it is portraying and is more powerful with the solid
vocals provided by both Jong Yup and JeA. The music video makes subtle
suggestions about how JeA goes about trying to hide her imperfections, mistakes and she struggles as she tries but one thing she cannot cover up is the man’s undying love for her.
The second
track is “Island of tears” which is another sad moving number packed with
emotional lyrics and swaying vocals. The song sings about the lover letting go
of them and the sense of being let out being out tears uncountable from the
woman’s eyes. This song is equally powerful like the first track if not more.
Both the
tracks really do bring out the best in JeA’s vocals and her song writing
skills. The album is a recommended listen, so please try and let me know what
you think in the comments section below.
