The ultimate battle between two beauty/ makeup product!

Admin Virgil.

Do you hear the battle cry, chingu? Of course you do! There’s a war of makeup epic proportion between two foundations – the Oriflame Very Me Smoothie Foundation and the Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation.

Alright that’s enough drama; let’s get down to the details. I am going to focus on multiple aspects (or stages of battle, if you are still in the battle mode) and let you know which of these products I though took the winning place.

   1. Appearance.

Whether you agree with me or not, I know that most of us end up buying a product just for the way it looks or the way it is packed (at least, I do.) It is the first thing we notice about the product, the way it looks! The Oriflame Very Me Smoothie Foundation looks cute with oval- like shampoo bottle style whereas the Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation looks more professional. In this round, Smoothie wins!

2. Price.

The Oriflame Very Me Smoothie Foundation costs about 399 INR for 30ml, while the Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation costs somewhere between 90- 150 INR for a 27ml depending on where you buy. This round looks like its leaning towards Lakme, however there is a catch! Oriflame has a sample section where you can get a sample of the product (approximately 3ml) for 30INR. Once again this depends on whether a sample is available for that product or not OR if you Oriflame consultant doesn’t mind you being frugal. I actually bought two of the 30 bucks sample sachet.

But still, I have to be fair, Lakme wins this round.

 3. User-friendly.

The Oriflame Very Me Smoothie Foundation comes in four shades:

Porcelain was the shade that suited me. The cute nozzle makes it easy for to use.

The Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation also comes in four shades:

I tried the pearl shade because it was closest to my skin tone. Unlike Smoothie, the Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation doesn’t have a nozzle or anything of that sort which if not careful could result in a mess.

It’s best to use Q-tips with this. (I actually hate using Q-tips for anything other than its real purpose).
Therefore user friendly-wise, Smoothie wins!

 4. Does it work?

The Oriflame Very Me Smoothie Foundation is super smooth and easily blends into the skin. It brightens the skin, and gives a dewy effect. It lasts a good amount and doesn’t get patchy when you sweat in it.

The Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation is also easy on the skin and gives a more matt look. Unfortunately, the foundation doesn’t last long, requires regular touch ups throughout the day especially when you sweat.

In this battle Smoothie wins! I absolutely love the Oriflame Very Me Smoothie Foundation and only shifted to Lakme to give it a try. Smoothie is super dewy and kept my skin well moisturised the entire day. Lakme, however gave out on me and I continuously had to check my face in the mirror!

That’s the end of the battle. Is there any product you like and would want us to review? Let us know in the comments below. Or mail us at SpotmyKorea@gmail.com

Before we start, I just want to let you know that the images presented here are not mine; I just lifted them off google images, so credits to the owners! Thank you!

And now moving forward, as the title suggest, I am doing a review on the ‘Lotus WhiteGlow Serum’. It costs about 340 INR and it looks like this

(Once again, not my pictures, credit to the owners)

The serum as such looked too small and I felt it wouldn’t last long. Surprisingly it last for two months (only because I placed the serum up-side-down and kinda forced it to give me more product!) and I used it every day. The serum as such has a moisturiser-sort of consistency and easily blends into your skin. You can either apply it directly onto your skin or mix it with your other skin care product and apply it onto your face. I applied it directly on my face and used it twice on a daily basis.

Serums are said to be effective, however in my case I didn’t see the change. The label on the product stated that it would “lighten and brighten” but I didn’t really. The price was too much and it didn’t deliver. So I wouldn’t recommend it.

Do you agree with my simple review or maybe this serum worked for you. Either way, let us know on the comments below or mail us at SpotmyKorea@gmail,com
