ADMIN VIRGIL

Just finished listening to Lee Hong Ki's debut solo album and I am so glad that I did! The man takes experimental music to a whole new level. but before I go on with that let me give you some ground info about it.

Lee Hong Ki's debut album FM302 consists of five mind blowing tracks namely, “Let’s seize the day”, “Insensible”, “Kings for a day”, “Be your doll”, “LOL” (LOUDNESS OF LOVE) and “In the rain”.

Lee Hong Ki literally threw me out of this world with the way he sings in English!

The first song "Lat's seize the day" is sung entirely in English and is something that has been running in my mind all this while. The song packs in some techno beats and retro tunes which gives it a distant ethereal feel. The song is mesmerizing and creates imagery with its lyrics. This is a motivational song that re-instills the ever popular phrase “Carpe Diem”. Lee Hong Ki is so hopeful in this song that he makes me believe that I can do anything!

I flew! or as my teacher once said, "I flied"

“Insensible” is the title track in the album and delves into the depths of a relationship gone sour. The song has a dramatic sound track and accompanied by Hong Ki’s powerful vocals, the messages reaches well to the listener. The song is strong in terms of the beat and the lyrics. The music video feature Park Shin-Hye as Hong Ki’s lady love and the two portray the breaking away in the most painful way possible. The music video is just as dramatic and focuses more on Park Shin-Hye’s perspective as she carries the weight of the music video with the ease in her acting. The music video is worth watching for Park Shin-Hye’s acting.

The next track takes a complete turn from the previous track. Hong Ki is confident and daring in “Kings for a day” where he talks about taking over the world with his quirking ways and style. The song has a simple subtle guitar tune which builds up as it reaches the chorus. The song has an addictive feel and the repetitive lines in English make sure they stick ringing in your ears for a long time. This song literally makes me feel like I am Simba!

aside from that fact that, that is how my face contorts itself when I reach them high notes, bruh!

Moving on!

“Be your doll” is the next track and is a simple rock pop based love song. The song explores many beats and tunes which overlap one another, leading to an interesting listen and has an experimental feel to it. Hong Ki is quirkier than ever in this track and even flirty with the lyrics. I think musicality wise, this song is serious something else. Hong Ki is really good at this. You should check this song just for the haphazard cohesive melody. I wonder how they made this, maybe then just mixed a bunch and it came out cool.

 Nevertheless, I love it!

“Lol” or loudness of love, revisits the eighties rock music with its falling beats and tension raising drum beats. In this song, Hong ki asks the lady to stay by him as there nothing to fear and their love with protect, I tried to go to him....

The album sadly comes to an end with a ballad. “In the rain” is a sad song, okay? it is about missing the significant other and trying to wash the pain away in the rain. The song plays with mah life .... like I can't EVEN!

When an album plays with your emotion and takes your life to be an empty chips packet in the wind, then it is definitely worth buying.
What I am telling you is that you should give this album a listen. who knows you might like it. It definitely made me appreciate Hong Ki more and... and his voice. . . is a woosh  . . .  (Like the breeze)

That is all for today, this album has given me the courage to do something I have always wanted to do.

Become a Vampire and have a good'ol trusted canine as me assistant, who will guide me as we swoop down and bit ye' neck! what? Never heard of a sailor vampire? *mumble mumble* . . .

Being meticulous must be an easy thing for Hongki.
Looking forward to his solo release

When I heard Hongki was going to make his solo comeback, brother I screamed!
After nine years since debut, Hongki is finally branching out to do his individual promotions. There are more updates coming out everyday about his preparation. The name of his album is FM302 which is a combination of FM which is frequency modulation and 302 is supposed to symbolize his birthday. It is supposed to signify that my man here can modulate himself and renew himself with newer music and improved tunes with each frequency or attempt

first of all the teaser! I think you probably know that the door is supposed to signify him taking a new step and new venture in to the future. Later updates revealed that his actor friend from "You Are Beautiful' Park Shin Hye would play the female lead. AWWW... but I secretly wanted Fuji Mina.

Hongki was sweet enough to even give us a schedule of what he will be teasing us with and when. Isn't this sweet?

He recently posted this on his Instagram, is he having a good versus bad in the music video? what are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section below.

Have you listened to ‘six degrees of separation’ by The Script? If not I suggest you listen to it first and then come back here. The rest may proceed.

F.T.Island came up with their Korean version of their Japanese song which has an English title ‘Puppy’. That’s a mouthful! But really got me itching was the music video which talks about Lee Hongki’s search for his puppy. PUPPY! If any canine is to be paired with Hongki it should be Jolie from ‘You are beautiful’

Aside from that the emotional roller coaster which Hongki undergoes reminded me of six degrees of separation. How you ask? Well Imma tell you, Chingu, so read on!

The music video begins with the camera man showing us the time and also the type of literature Lee Hongki indulges in…

‘Whisper to the slaughter’?, ‘The punch and Judy murders’?, ‘Haleway House’? ‘The Spanish cape mystery’ and finally ‘The Sarab murder case’. What are you reading, young man. I often thought Hongki would indulge in fashion and nail art magazines….. Mostly nail art magazines but not this…. I mean what…………. Are these books even real?

Never mind that cause, Hongki is awake and under goes the six degree of separation- the old Hongki style.

First degree of separation: Realization and panic setting in.

Lee Hongki realises that his puppy is no longer with him and his panic mode rises towards the sky. He looks at the ground and notices that his little puppy has left clues for him . . .

This puppy probably thinks it is Korea’s Blue from Blue’s Clues or something. Somebody ought to catch it before it skedaddles into a book or what-not!
Back to the human, Lee Hongki goes into search mode and asks his friends to search with him……

Few agree

While few other give only a ‘Bow Wow Wow’s worth to it. But leave to search for the puppy anyway

Hongki gives a chance at searching for the puppy who he feels has left him for good. Good old Hongki begives to whimper

And calls out the name of the puppy, ‘puppy’.

Kudos to the naming committee there!

Second degree of seprartion: indulgence in vain distractions

After torturing oneself over the disappearance of another, Hongki barely comes out of his is-this-really-happening-for-real-I-mean-for-real-bruh phase. Below is a picture of him in that so called phase.

Hongki experiences mood swings as his face suddenly goes all powerful and suave looking. An example,

His friends who have obviously been helping him all this while are in the make-shift garage ripping up some tunes. Hongki’s rockstar alter persona takes over and he begins to jam with this fellow Chinguduels.

And just then, and just when everything was going oh so smoothly, Hongki accidentally puts his feelings into the tracks.

Ah damn it all! The feel has been ruined and the band breaks out for the session. Fellow Chingudeuls realize that this puppy could possibly get them apart….. meanwhile, Hongki

What are you saying, no he was not. He was jamming a second ago. What do you mean all day?

Third degree of separation: Hoarding and revisiting memories

A typical behaviour I believe but not my place to speak, Hongki finds the custom made dog food for his puppy and emotionally breaks down.

He begins to reminisce the times he spend giving food to his puppy and occasionally eating it with the puppy as well.

His fellow chingudeuls decide to take matters into their own hands and for the sake of Hongki and the band as whole, they call the police to file a missing pet complain.

OH! Oh never mind. That was just me talking.

Fourth degree of separation: pretending to be someone else

Paranoia gets the best of Hongki as he decides to follow the –if-I-can’t-find-Puppy-Imma-be-Puppy route.

At this stage, Hongki looks desperate and willing to go through any extent to find the puppy named Puppy.

And this stage I wonder who let the puppy out in the first place.

Meanwhile, fellow chingudeuls show their concern by jamming some music- AGAIN and distracting him.

The plan mildly works but only pummels him down to the next degree

Fifth degree of separation: on the verge of complete madness

Hongki sinks lower than ever and decides to ask people around if they are his Puppy. Hongki couldn’t have picked a better time to ask then when the pizza delivery girl enters the scene

Personally I would never order from a place where the uniform is such as this and especially if the girl speaks dog. Hongki and the others are quick to realise that this music video is taking a turn of a weirder kind and try to manage the situation.

The girl however tries to play the role of a pizza delivery girl to the tee!

Hongki reminds himself that this is not the puppy he wanted and quickly changes the puppy’s owner and jumps back into sadness.

Hongki is seen once again to be searching for his puppy.

Yes, all day, ladies and gentlemen, ALL DAY. In Korea, the sun never sets, it is always bright outside. All this sunshine and colours unfortunately brings Hongki to his last degree

Sixth degree of separation: Delusional to hysteria

Like every good search party, Hongki comes back to the scene of the crime, the place where it all began, where he lost it all……

All sense breaks loose and Hongki embarks on the final stage- being delusional- He asks the ultimate question.

And then he and we see this.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND !  IS THIS SOME KIND OF TWISTED FANFIC THAT I AM NOT AWARE OF? IT IS LEE JAEJIN DRESSED AS A PUPPY. WHY DIDN’T HE DO THAT IN THE BEGINNING OF THE MUSIC VIDEO. It would have resolved all the tension Hongki felt. But now Hongki is Delusional and on the verge of Hysteria as the music video comes to an end.

So what do you think about today’s review. I really want to know what you have gotta say about this

BOW WOW WOW TO YOU!
