We are all mama’s boy or
girl whether we like it or not and so when a singer sings a song that is
dedicated to his mama, you know tears are going to fall. So grab your tissues
before you take a listen at Sam Kim’s “Mama Don’t worry”.
Sam Kim
released “Mama Don’t worry” as part of his album along with “Seattle” and “Your
Song”. I will start with “Seattle” which is song about wanting to get back home
and the feeling of being accepted. The song is majorly penned down in English
and draws multiple imagery, while talking about wanting to hide, to be taken care
of and wanting to be loved. A really haunting song if you ask me. And then we
have “Your Song” which is a love song promising the girl that she is not alone
and that Sam Kim is with her. Why do I feel so calm when he sings that? A pretty
song sung by a pretty voice.
“Mama Don’t Worry”
is a song that is close to Sam Kim’s heart, as the boy is currently in South
Korean while his parents are living in the States. The distance and his
schedule makes it difficult to contact his mom on a frequent basis and so
through this song, Sam Kim makes an effort to tell his mom what he had always
wanted to tell her. And quite frankly what we all sometimes get the urge to
tell out mothers as well but then don’t. the song is moving and tear jerking.
The music
video shows Sam Kim getting ready for a live gig in LA as also shows him in a
barren land singing his song. The music video is taken in a causal manner and that
really helps in getting to know Sam on a good level. The song is stronger than
the music video as it literally takes ups the rains and controls the emotion rather
than the visuals. That was what I though as I watched the music video and then
THIS happens in the last ten second and I starts whaling like crazy.
I recommend that you give this guy a listen, they is
something about his voice that is pulling and triggering.
