The siblings’ duo Akdong
Musicians, who are low key my spirit animal right now, are finally back on the
music scene with a full length album for the spring time titled “Spring”. The album
has a total of six songs which are Re-Bye,
How people move, Haughty Girl, Green Window, Every Little Thing and Around.
The album kicks off with
their title songs “Re-Bye” which is a sad song about saying goodbye, more like
making a habit of saying good-bye, but no worries because they are not ashamed
of who they are and would rather be true to themselves and their feelings. The song has a real nice vibe and the notes that Suhyun reaches is simply amazing!
The music video shows the two working as undercover agents trying to catch the culprit as she is trying to kill the female singer. The music video is shot so beautifully, it is definitely worth watching, especially for this scene..
The next track is another title track "How people move" which is a quirky song about well how people move or dance. The song is bound to make you laugh especially the chorus, and the adorable sounds they make through out the track. The song is my favourite in the track. Just watch the music video and just dance.
"Haughty girl" follows a melody which is much slower in pace than the first two songs but is still a very refreshing spring number. The song has a laid back lounge like feel, and the lyrics are so simple and easy to relate to. I once again love the vibe the song is giving out.
"Green Window" is a song about nurturing your dreams and hope no matter what the difficulties that come your path. The song is so beautifully penned down that it incorporates colours and emotions into it and brings out a message in such a subtle yet effective manner. The song is simply beautiful to listen to because of all the images it sets up.
"Every Little thing" is my crush! The song is about seeing the little precious things in life that we take for granted in life. It amazes me how the duo do so well with songs that are not always about love and betrayal about life as a what it is.
The two complement one other vocally so well, it makes me beam with pride.
Finally we have "Around" which is a sad song about hesitations, willingness to move forward but something is stopping them. I know you have heard this before, but I love this song as well. It is hard to not like a song when it is sung by this adorable duo. They really do have charm and their feels and personality really shines through in the songs they sings. What can I say? once you are caught in their trap, you can not escape their charisma.
